Hello! ¡Hola! I’m Millie, and I am a Spanish teacher. I cannot wait to have class, and watch students become alive in the language, and see them learn about the many cultures there are as well!
I have taught Spanish for about 16 years, and have my Master’s degree with certification in New York State. I am a mother of two beautiful daughters and reside in Western New York, south of Niagara Falls. My heritage is both Puerto Rican and Italian. I am a near native speaker of Spanish. I love to explore in the language by reading and learning about people and places that are Spanish speaking, even places right here in the United States.
I love teaching Spanish through a variety of methods. Storytelling is one of them. Becoming conversant or being communicative quickly is a main goal. During class there will be opportunities for us to learn from each other with question and answer periods. I love Spanish music, hearing certain songs and paying attention to lyrics really speeds up the process of becoming fluent. Classes will progress from beginner to advanced and you may enroll at the level you feel you can handle. Suggestions are made on the Learn Spanish tab at the top of the page.
I love to travel and have been to Puerto Rico and Costa Rica. If you would like your teenager to explore a foreign country, Costa Rica is very ecotourist friendly! Click on the Travel tab, also at the top of the page.
Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your questions. I will reply as soon as possible.
